Childhood is an adventure of exploration and new experiences. Offering children a variety of different experiences is an effective method of promoting interest in healthy activities. Our co-curricular classes are fun and a source of learning for children. They help them realize their skills and interest. The activities include:

Story Telling It is embedded in our curriculum to encourage creativity, enhance the power of imagination and open up to ideas. During story telling the children relate themselves to certain characters and readily absorb certain messages.

Etiquette Training Children are taught to show respect and kindness among their peers and elders using words like ‘Please’ and ‘Thank you’. They learn table manners when they have mid-day meals and snacks during recess.

Music and Movement Children are taught rhymes to articulate words and modulate voices. It helps them to develop phonemic skills. They enjoy and appreciate music.

Nature Exploration Educational field trips to students at regular intervals help them and facilitate fast and efficient learning. With each experience they are able to create a connection between what they learn at school and the real world.

Colour Days At Springfields the concept of colour is taught through colour days namely Green day, Red day, Yellow day and Blue day

Sand and water play Playing in the sand is a great opportunity for children to have constructive play time and develop certain skills. Feeling the grains of sand and making castles helps children to develop fine motor skills. Writing letters and small words in the sand helps them with language skills.

Communication Communication skills among students are developed by focusing on their listening comprehension through various activities. They listen and learn to frame simple sentences. Educational videos and tools are used to supplement what the teacher teaches them in the class.

Thematic Teaching :

Our teaching process also includes Thematic Teaching. Themes are chosen that are student centered incorporating the needs, interests and perspectives of the students. Thematic instructions align with current popular pedagogies and standards including Story Telling, Role Play, Rhymes, etc. The teachers actively participate and help students understand the concepts very clearly.

Circle Time :

Circle Time is a time for important social interaction among young children. It helps develop positive relationships between kids through engaging and fun activities. We focus more on ‘SPICE’ (social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional) Development of the child. Some of the activities in Circle Time include warm-up exercises, conversation, sight words, story narration, role-play, word of the week, password, music and movement and a lot more.

Socializing amongst peers, developing good habits and improved listening skills are some of the benefits that a child can get from participating in Circle Time.
